BOBCAT CHASE FUN RUN
The Bobcat Chase Fun Run began in 2007, the year the Santa Rita track was built.  Students participate in races for each grade level.  There's even an open race for friends, family, alumni, and staff!  This event is the perfect way to kick off the school year, welcome new families, reconnect with old friends after summer break, and show our Bobcat pride!

GRAND-FRIENDS' DAY
Build a bridge across generations on Grand-Friends' Day, when students invite their grandparents and other grand-friends to school to celebrate how multi-generational communities enrich our lives.

WITCHES' DELIGHT
Witches' Delight, a long-standing Santa Rita tradition considered a favorite by many Santa Rita alums, is a spooky-fun Halloween-themed carnival complete with rides, games, and a costume contest. The highlight of the evening is the cake walk, where people compete to win one of the many cakes decorated by both accomplished home bakers and budding culinary artists in our community.  Tickets are available in advance.

BOOK FAIR
The Book Fair is an annual event at Santa Rita that turns our Multipurpose room into a bookstore. Book Fair week provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate reading and promote literacy. The Fair lasts 5-7 days and supports our library.

MUSICAL
Students collaborate onstage and behind the scenes to put on a musical performance for fellow students, family, and friends. All students who wish to participate will have a role to play in bringing the delightful annual production to life.

READ-A-THON
The Read-a-thon is a school-wide event that fosters a lifelong love of reading. Students set personal reading goals and earn prizes for achieving reading milestones.

AUCTION PARTY
The annual Auction Party is a fun adults-only party and fundraiser for Santa Rita! The PTA plans the party itself, as well as organizing items for the auction, including class artwork, wine, vacations and more!

FAMILY NIGHT

Santa Rita Family Night is an opportunity for the school community to have a fun night out together.  Usually, one Family Night is planned per year.  Previous Family Nights have included a celebration on the Blacktop with Food Trucks, Dancing, and Art.

PET PARADE

A beloved community tradition since 1948, the Los Altos Kiwanis Pet Parade is a celebration that attracts thousands of people every year. Hundreds of kids and their pets — dogs, cats, birds, chickens, turtles and even worms — participate.  There are also youth groups, marching bands, and dignitaries in vintage cars!

JUNIOR OLYMPICS
The Junior Olympics is a day-long sports event designed for the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students of the Los Altos School District, in which they participate in a variety of athletic events in a supportive environment that encourages all students to show school spirit and strive for their personal bests.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
The Science Olympiad at Santa Rita brings students together from 4th through 6th grade to use scientific concepts in tackling real world problems. Participants learn the practical applications of science and the scientific method in a series of fun, collaborative challenges.

LUNCH TIME STRIDERS
The Bobcat Lunch Time Striders is a walk/run exercise program. The program is designed to promote exercise in a healthy, supportive, and non-competitive manner.

All Santa Rita traditions and events are organized in partnership between the Santa Rita PTA and Santa Rita faculty and staff, and they are possible only through the generous volunteer efforts of Santa Rita parents and family. Contact the PTA to find out how you can help; your participation is VITAL!
